Art. 1 – The curriculum of the Postgraduate Program in Language Studies, master’s and doctoral levels, comprises the subjects, credits and course load listed below.

Art. 2 – In the Master’s Course, the student must take the two required subjects of the Common Core: Theoretical-methodological foundations of language studies and Supervised
Activities, and three subjects of the Specific Field of study, one of which must be part of his∕ her Research Line.
Art. 3 – In the Master’s course, this curriculum is complemented by the oral examination of a thesis project, to which 2 credits of supervised work will be assigned, corresponding
to 90 (ninety) class hours. The curriculum will also be complemented by a thesis, followed by an oral examination by an examination board, to which 8 credits of supervised work will be assigned, corresponding to 360 (three hundred and sixty) class hours. The course must consist of780 (seven hundred and eighty) class hours, corresponding to 28 (twenty-eight) credits, comprising the following activities:

Art. 4 – In the Doctoral Course, the student must take two required subjects among Supervised Activities and one Supervised Research subject from the Common Nucleus,
and three subjects from the Specific Field of study, one of which must be related to the student’s Research Line. In the Doctoral Course, the subject Theoretical-methodological
foundations of language studies can be taken as an elective subject.
Art. 5 – In the Doctoral Course, this curriculum is complemented by the qualifying oral examination, to which 6 credits of supervised work will be assigned, corresponding to
270 (two hundred and seventy) class hours. The curriculum will also be complemented by a dissertation, followed by an oral examination by an examination board, to which
16 credits of supervised work will be assigned, corresponding to 720 (seven hundred and twenty) class hours. The course must consist of 1,530 (one thousand five hundred and thirty) class hours, corresponding to 48 (forty-eight) credits, comprising the following activities:

Art. 6 – The Courses will have the following duration, in months:
: Master’s Course
a) minimum: 12 (twelve) months
b) maximum 30 (thirty) months ST or SW Doctoral Course
a) minimum: 24 (twenty four) months
b) maximum 54 (fifty four) months
§ 1 The maximum duration includes the cancelation period to which students are entitled.
§ 2 – In case of difficulty in completing the final work in due time, the maximum period established by this article for completion of the course may exceptionally
be extended for another 1 (one) academic semester, as prescribed in the Course Regulations.
Art. 7 The present Resolution will be enforced on the date it is approved by this Council.
